Thalang Maneekram: A Cultural Experience for the Whole Family

Children love playing on the beaches of Phuket and they certainly enjoy the exciting activities that the child-friendly establishments around the island have to offer. Certainly, Phuket has always been an excellent place for a family vacation as there are always loads of things to do on the island. From malls such as Central Festival and Jungceylon Shopping Centre to Phuket Zoo, there is never a dull moment here for the family.

Fortunately, Phuket is not resting on its laurels, as the island continues to attract and develop new and interesting family attractions. For many families, it is easy to find fun activities but it is harder to plan and visit various cultural sites around Phuket. Indeed, Thailand is a diverse and culturally vibrant nation but people don’t usually seek cultural attractions in Phuket.

Thalang Maneekram is going to change all that. This venture is a promise that Phuket is going to have a centre for the culture that the whole family can enjoy. So what is Thalang Maneekram? Let’s find out.

Phuket’s New Cultural Landmark

Thalang Maneekram is Phuket’s first mini Thailand. This Thai Cultural City is over 76,000 sqm in size and it is made up of buildings with architecture from across the country. Thalang Maneekram is open 365 days ad year and they offer activities that involve art, tradition, culture. There are plenty of other offerings such as shopping, games and fun fair activities.

For a delicious overview of all the foods of Thailand, Thalang Maneekram is dotted with vendors that make street food and other fresh daily items from across the country. A large family can comfortably spend a whole day or even return for a repeat visit and there will be plenty to do and see.

Big Attractions

Experience Thai culture all in one place with Thalang Maneekram’s various programs and offerings. You can enjoy Songkran and Loy Krathong festivities every day, which is such a rare opportunity as those festivities come by only once a year. Make a splash with these festivities and gain some real insight into some of the key highlights on the Thai cultural calendar.

Thalang Maneekram has a host of Thai costumes and locations that can take you back in time to what native Thai people have always worn. Visitors can take their own photos and selfies in their costumes or professional photographers can be hired to take some photos as timeless souvenirs.

The Farmland area gives visitors an insight into how rural Thailand operates and what the farmers of Thailand do on a daily basis. The monkeys in Farmland are another interesting attraction as they are trained to climb trees and pick coconuts!

Thailand’s natural beauty is also well-represented at Thalang Maneekram. The TMK Botanical Garden is a gorgeous tapestry of exotic flowers that Thailand is fortunate to have. You can stop by the Buffalo and Cow House to see how these animals are a big part of Thai rural life. Finally, you can also meet the elephants, Thailand’s beloved symbol at the Elephant House.

Funland is a great place to let loose and enjoy the fun-fair games for nice prizes. Thalang Maneekram has many arts and crafts activities such as plaster painting, fan painting, candle making and shirt painting to name but a few, so get your hands dirty and create a souvenir you will enjoy.
